It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVurne Harvey Josten of Forest City, Iowa, who passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, August Josten and Vergie Josten (Meinders); his sons, Bret Evan Josten and Thad Landon Josten; and his siblings, LeRoy Josten and LeAllyn Josten.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kuhlers of Forest City; his daughters, Kayla Reynolds (Doug) of Earlham, IA and Teesha Kirschbaum (Karl) of Olympia, WA; his daughter-in-law Connie Josten of Lake Mills, IA; his grandchildren, Landon Josten (Becca Martin), Alisha Olson, Charity Nicholson (Tracy), Felicity Olson (Aaron), Macy, Blake, Brady Reynolds, Otto and Amos Kirschbaum; his great grandchild Archer Olson; and his sibling LaVohn Josten (Richard Smiley).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Winnebago County Fair Association and Forest City Good Samaritan Society ice cream machine fund.
