It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Norman Dontje (Forest City, Iowa), who passed away on August 23, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Dontje and Olive Dontje (Burnett); his sister Viola Krull of Waverly, IA; and his parents-in-law, Henry, Lucille Dontje, Ausgust, Lois Dontje, Frances, Johnny Karels, Emma, Roy Hinz, Paul Bentele, Don, Helen Potthoff and Delores Bentele.
He is survived by: his significant other Susan Bentele; his children, Dale Dontje (Lori) and Sheila Pilgrim (Thomas) of Forest City; his grandchildren, Benjamin Dontje (Cindy) of Forest City, James Dontje (Kayla) of Forest City, Jacob Pilgrim (Lindsay) of Garner, IA and Rebecca Reis (Jesse) of Polk City, IA.; his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jenna, Amanda Dontje, Cooper, Joslyn Dontje, Weston Pilgrim, Jordyn and Adelyn Reis; his stepgrandchildren, Drew and Sadie Britson; and his siblings-in-law, Harold Bentele of Fairmont, MN and Doris Bentele of Hibbing, MN..
A face covering will be mandated and social distancing will be observed for all attending.
