She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel A. McDermott and Elizabeth McDermott (Nevins); her grandson Brad Thier; her siblings, Mabel Roths (LaVern), Kathryn McDermott, Honora Schmitt, Luella Krapfl (Donald), Eleanor McDermott, Ray McDermott (Lillian) and Daniel McDermott (Elizabeth "Bette"); her parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Zalaznik; and her siblings-in-law, Francis Heitz (Ray), Victor Zalaznik (Eunice), Ed Zalaznik (Florence), Gene Tujetsch, John Kenneth Zalaznik (Phyllis) and Cyril Zalaznik.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Zalaznik; her children, Bernie Zalaznik (Janaé) of Wichita, KS, Jane Thier (Paul) of Dyersville, IA, Joyce Dierks (Mike) of Waterloo, IA, Jack Zalaznik (Janet) of Dyersville, IA, Julie Arlen (Charlie) of New Vienna, IA and Joe Zalaznik (Lori) of Epworth, IA; her grandchildren, Scott Zalaznik (Arely), Matthew (Trisha), Jay (Jenny), Russell Thier (Brande), Michael (Holly), Tim Dierks, Paul Dierks (Holly), Jeff (Brandi), Jill Zalaznik, Emily LeConte (Tony), Angela Arlen, Dan Arlen (Samantha), Amanda Knipper (Pete), Kevin Zalaznik (Angie), Audrey White (Dustin), Andrea Hansen (Troy) and Mark Zalaznik; her sister Jeanine McDermott; and her sister-in-law Mary Tujetsch of Guttenberg, IA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
