It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Genevieve F. Nemmers (Dubuque, Iowa), who passed away on June 11, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, J. Louis Walsh and Ann Walsh (Knepper); her daughter Mary Ann; her sister Jean; her brothers-in-law, Dale Bartels of Dyersville and Thomas Trausch; and her nephew Nicholas Bartels.

She is survived by: her husband Dr. Julian G. Nemmers of Dubuque; her children, Jacqueline Nemmers of Dubuque and Julian Nemmers (Nancy) of Longmont, CO; her grandchildren, Ryan and Justin; her daughters, Dr. Carolyn Nemmers of Barrington, IL, Catherine Nemmers of Dubuque and Ellen Tuffy (Tim) of Barrington; her granddaughters, Genevieve and Evangeline; her son John Nemmers (Natalie) of Dubuque; her grandchildren, Julian and Lauren; and her siblings, Ruth Trausch of Dubuque and Patrick Walsh (Carol) of Bernard. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Genevieve's personhood remains quite memorable [from back in the '70s], having sustained elements of adversity, while retaining a grounded sense of herself. She was a classy person.
