With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carol Sue Vaassen of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on May 20, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Krug and Norma Krug (Herting); her brother David; her parents-in-law, Gilbert and Marion Vaassen; and her siblings-in-law, Julie Hasken (Peach), Marty Vaassen and Jerry Wiederhold.
She is survived by: her husband Steven Vaassen; her children, Ellen Hasken (Austin), Nicholas Vaassen (Emilee Keller), Benjamin Vaassen (Jamie Lynn), Jeremy Vaassen (April) and Cory Vaassen (Stephanie Hag); her grandchildren, Cameron, Kyan Vaassen, Nora, Via Vaassen and Audrey Hasken; her siblings, Carla Heffner (Del), Cathy Fenelon, Janet Krug (Jay Avenarius), Jon Krug and Steve Krug; her siblings-in-law, Cindy Wiederhold, Jan Vaassen, Mary Siegenthaler, Nikki Kaiser (Cole), Jamie Vaassen (Amanda) and Tommy Bastis (Kelly); and her stepmother-in-law Patricia Mundschenk. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a Carol Sue Vaassen memorial fund has been established.
