He was predeceased by: his son Nicklas; his parents, Wayne Mathers and Norma Mathers; his brother Steve Mathers; and his parents-in-law, Forrest Conover and EmmaJean Conover Schwarz.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Conover; his children, Matthew Mathers (Jeni) of Ankeny and Marlo Mathers of Cushing; his grandchildren, Trey Mathers (Gena), Jacie Pyle (Justin), Collin Mathers, Lauren Jepsen (JD Lau), Madelyn Jepsen and Cory Jepsen; his great grandchildren, Paisyn, Kade Pyle and Alayna Lau; his siblings, Sandra Volkert (Tom), Loretta Hansen, Susan Mohr (Robert), Nancy Mathers (Jim Morgan), Bruce Mathers (Dyane), Mark Mathers (Carla), Brian Mathers (Jose Huerta), Kim Mathers and Kristin Mathers (Randy Hansen); and his siblings-in-law, Gwen Mathers, Vicki Dixon, Tammie Gray (Jim) and Dennis Conover. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family.
A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date after restrictions due to COVID-19 have been lifted.
