He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Murr and Pluma Murr (Martin); his daughter Joy; his grandson Landen Mateer; and his brother Tom Murr.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret G. Powell; his daughters, Jodi Martin (Leonard) of Osceola and Jo Lee Mateer (Theron) of Melcher-Dallas; his granddaughter Karsyn J. Mateer; and his sister-in-law Anne Murr of Osceola.

Memorials may be directed to New Hope United Methodist Church and Melcher-Dallas Fire & Rescue.
