She was predeceased by: her parents, William Steen and Minnie Steen (Brass); her grandparents, Dick, Henrietta Steen (Kaiser), Ehme and Jennie Brass (Fisher); her brother Darrel Steen; her brother-in-law Gary Meyer; and her parents-in-law, Clarence and Carrie Schaefer (Sweers).
She is survived by: her husband Robert Schaefer of Britt; her grandchildren, Nile and Wirth; her children, Heather Schaefer of Ames, Stacie Schaefer of Ames, Justin Schaefer (Jaryn), Nile, Wirth of Omaha, NE and Amy Schaefer; her sisters, Frances Meyer of Buffalo Center and Bev Heitland (Jeff) of Winona, MN; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Steen of Lime Springs, IA, Dorothy Schaefer of Britt, Diane Schaefer of Holly Springs, NC, Richard Schaefer (LaDonna) of Britt, Dennis Schaefer (Nancy) of Garner and Dean Schaefer (Kathy) of Britt. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
