He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Carroll and Opal Patty; and his friend Steve Saur. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his children, Sarah Detjens (Rick) of Blair, Neb and Paul Macomber of Coralville, Iowa; his grandchildren, Grace and Zachary of Blair; his siblings, Ella Johns (Dennis) of League City, Texas and Charles William Macomber (Nancy) of Cascade; and his brother-in-law Don Patty (Tracy) of Raleigh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
