He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Criswell and Elizabeth Criswell (Irwin); his wife Claudia Lou Gress; his sister Edith "Cris"; and his brother-in-law Harlan Hirsch.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Criswell (Tom Claussen) of Long Grove, Jodie Criswell (Steve Slach) of Davenport, Chris Criswell of Bettendorf and Jeff Criswell of Grandview, Iowa; his siblings-in-law, Maralyn Hepner (Bill) of Davenport and Gerry Gress (Judy) of Waverly, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Creighton and Rylee Claussen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or to the National Kidney Foundation.
