He was predeceased by: his mother Ann Hayes (Behan); his siblings, Bill, Pat and Mary Catherine; his nephew Kevin; and his great-nephew Marcus.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen Hayes (Gersema) of Atlantic; his children, Ann Ayers (Rob) of New Lennox, IL, Bryan Hayes (Diane) of Atlantic, IA, Casey Hayes (Kim) of Overland Park, KS, Pete Hayes (Naiomi) and Scott Travis (Kellie); his grandchildren, Darby, Madison, Alec, Mary, Brandon, Chase, Josh, Shannon, Alina, Calob, Kesly, Travis, Kevin, Lily, Joshua and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Lexi, Jackson, Bennie, Braxton and Eden; and his brothers, John and Tom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Hayes Family in honor of Gerald, and will be designated to some of his favorite organizations/charities.
