He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Dunn and Bonnie Wallace; and his brothers, Wayne Dunn, Bill Dunn and Jerry Dunn.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Oswalt Dunn; his children, John R. Dunn (Erika), Linda Dunn-Jones and Michael W. Dunn (Colleen); his grandchildren, Ken Fischer (Meghan), Alisha Feldkamp (Jay), Abbey Weimann (Steve), Austin Dunn, Kirsten Jones, Kyle Jones, Kayla Jones and Liam Dunn; his great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Leo, Jude, Max, Jonah and Evie; and his sisters, Kay Collins, Carol Prindle and Mary Jo Dunn.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Bethany Life of Story City, Iowa.
