He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Smith and Katherine Smith (Wesanto); his sister Shirley Bullock (Al); and his father-in-law Russell Maki. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Glorian; his children, Ronald Gene Smith (Rhonda) of Huxley, Kristina Lorraine Srsha (Michael) of Ankeny and David Brian Smith (Sarha) of St. Joseph, MO; his grandchildren, Andrew Ronald Smith, Jacob Charles Smith, Jack Brian Srsha, Ashley Lorraine Srsha, Abygale Morgan Smith and Blake Charles Smith; his sisters, Kathy Lund (Mark) and Thea Parrise; his mother-in-law Glorian Maki of Newton; and also, Dale Maki (Shari) of Newton, Gary Maki (Deb) of Montezuma, Karen Partridge (Tom) and Jannette Buckley (John) of Plainfield, IL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Israel Family Hospice House.
