We are sad to announce that on May 22, 2024, at the age of 78, Karen Louise Hettel of Honolulu, Hawaii, born in Clarion, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Karen Louise's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Karen Louise has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clair Nelson and Anna Nelson. She is survived by: her husband Lou; her daughter Kristina; her son-in-law Bruce Kravis; her grandchildren, James and Natasha Kravis; and her sister Cheryl Schrader.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to Holy Cross Parish.
