He is survived by: his sons, Clayton Shimizu (Wendy) of Hilo, Keith Shimizu of Anaheim, Dean Shimizu of Hilo and Calvin Shimizu of Hilo; and his siblings, Yoshiharu Shimizu (Chikako) of Japan, Jerry Shimizu (Helga) of Kona, Yuriko Umetsu of Hilo and Marion Kupahu of Oahu. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
