She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lester Bankston and Ona Mae Alexander Bankston; her former husband Oscar Purvis; her husband Harry Hammond; and her sister Joann Swygert.
She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Hammond Goforth of Molena; her grandson Alex Goforth; her sister Uldine; her brother-in-law Raphael Brumbeloe of Meansville; her brother Hollis; her sister-in-law Millie Bankston of Williamson; and her friends, Kim Lynch of Zebulon, Sheila Massengale of Meansville, Hazel Lee of Meansville, Levell Killingsworth of Meansville and Jeff Sheriff of Zebulon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
