He was predeceased by: his parents, Addie Thomas, and John Thomas, Sr.; his wife Jean Thomas; his daughters, Teresa Ann and Alisa Ann Thomas; his sisters, Gladys Tijan and Mae Helms; and his mother-in-law Mary "Nanny" Allmond.
He is survived by: his son John "Johnny" S. Thomas III (Dominee) of Waynesboro; his grandchildren, Dylan Thomas and Megan Thomas of Waynesboro; and his close friend Barbara Hudson of Vidette.
