He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, H. C. Upchurch, Sr. and Irene Britt Upchurch; his siblings, Mary Jane Hamilton, Glenn Upchurch, Yorkie and Brite Sunshine; his wife Sarah S. Upchurch; his daughters, Hadley Harrison (Dorroh) of Waynesboro and Cameron Gunter of Athens, GA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Broxton (Jon) of Waynesboro, Abby Taylor Harrison of Waynesboro, Blake Harrison of Waynesboro, Walter Gunter and Gus Gunter of Athens, GA; and his great grandchildren, Brooks Broxton, Blain Broxton and Brandt Broxton of Waynesboro. He was also cherished by several nieces & nephews.
