We are sad to announce that on January 7, 2021, at the age of 93, Almeta Carter of Warwick, Georgia, born in Arcadia, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Willoughby Gates and Alma Partin Gates; her husband J. T. Carter; and her siblings, Gerald Gates, Lamar Gates, C. W. Gates, Allen Gates, Kathleen Sisa and Veda Moorman.

She is survived by: her children, Tommy Carter (Becky) of Lake Blackshear and Cindy Carter Still (Skip) of Pendleton, SC; her grandchildren, John Carter (Marjorie), Allyson Carter Smallwood (Shannon), Leah Still Schonfeld (Matt), Katie Still Cheek (Randall), Brandi Bays Ivy (Clint) and Brooke Bays Ferguson (James); her siblings, Floyd Gates (Ruby Jean) of Melbourne, FL., Carey Gates (Ruth) of Albany and Barbara Delbridge (Larry) of Albany; and her sister-in-law Imogene Gates of Ft. Pierce, FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
