He is survived by: his wife Eva Crafts of Washington; his son Michael Emil; his daughter-in-law Beth Crafts; his daughter Suzanne Elizabeth; his son-in-law Jim Booher; and his grandchildren, Declan McKinley Booher and Isla Ven Booher. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In his later years, David was active in organizing the annual Old Timer's Luncheon, a fundraiser for the city of Punta Gorda, where many of his watercolor paintings were donated for auction.
