Shirley Ann Knight Obituary
Shirley Ann Knight died peacefully on Saturday September 9, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Dianne Thomas in Tifton.
Shirley was born November 30, 1935 in Ellington, Ga. to the late Henry and Ellah Agnes Alto Griffin. Before retirement she worked at the family business, Knight's Furniture and later Knight's Smart Décor. She was a long time member of the Pine Garden Club, was a proud to be an honored National Flower Show Judge. She was known for her creativity, enjoyed painting and crafting and sold her art at Little Hippie Chick on Main Street. Shirley was of the Christian faith and lived her life in joy and peace.
Survivors include, three brothers, Tommy, Jack and Randal Griffin, step children, Brenda Knight Cooper and Clayton Knight, her children, Dolfus Jackson, Dianne Thomas, Paula Harnage, Lorraine Fletcher and Gloria Knight, grandchildren, Jenny Cooper Pinson, Laura Cooper, Becker, Anna Cooper Faciane, Zach Perez, Will Owens, Teresa Knight Mace, Tiffany Knight Chaney, Michele Thomas Mobbs, Bill Thomas, Chris Boyd, Michael Burgess, Matt Jackson, Clint Jackson, Russ Harnage, Samantha Harnage, Candice Cummings , Payton Guess and Layna Hodges, twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Esmond Cato Knight, two brothers, Alton and Shelton Griffin, one sister, Lavern Franks and two grandchildren, Grant Thomas and Dallas Williford.
The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Hospice of Tift Area. The family would like to thank Hospice and MRS Homecare for their kindness shown during her illness.
