He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Emory Gurley and Fannie Pearson Gurley; and his daughter Johnnie Mae Bunting. He is survived by: his children, Gary (Janice Palmer), Gregg Palmer of Valdosta, Georgia, Dave (Penny Gurley), Emory (Angie Gurley), Margaret Edson of Andalusia, Alabama. and Jennifer (Tommy Byrd) of Andalusia, Alabama.; his siblings, Clovis Gurley of Douglas, Calie Williams of Douglas, Catherine Taft of Pearson and Odessa Taft of Pearson; and his wife Betty Pearl Miller Gurley. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
