It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wayne Taylor Smith of Thomson, Georgia, born in Washington, Georgia, who passed away on March 6, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, A. C. Taylor Smith and Margaret Wilson Smith; and his siblings, Marcia Harrison and George A. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Richerson Poole Smith; his cousins, Mike Lightfoot and Susan Chambers (Bing); his nieces, Donna Oglesby, Rhonda Moss Rochelle Harrison (Tracy) and Teresa Smith (Richard); and his stepdaughters, Amy Downing (Doug) and Natalie Poole Collins (Steve). He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
