He was predeceased by: his parents, Dezzie Roberts Emerson and William Rossie Emerson; his wife Carol Emerson; and his siblings, Gaynelle Hopwood and James Emerson.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Emerson (Becky) of Lee County and Stacey Griffin (Hank) of Fayetteville; his stepson Tony Rodeghier of Thomasville; his granddaughters, Heather Pines (Conley), Katlyn Aultman (Mark) and Georgia Griffin; his great grandchildren, Cole Thompson and Emerson Pines; and his sisters, Nada Whittington (Royce) and Sadie Collins.
