It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edna Averett of Swainsboro, Georgia, born in Kite, Georgia, who passed away on August 31, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Champ Tapley and Pauline Horton Tapley; her husband John Robert Averett; her grandsons, Shannon Averett and Chad McCoy; and her siblings, Hubert Tapley, Doris Barrow and Jacqueline Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Averett (Carolyn) of Swainsboro and Ann Johnson of Swainsboro; and her siblings, Richard Tapley of Oak Park and JoAnn Godfrey of Kite. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
No family will be present during this time due to Covid precautions.
