He is survived by: his children, Alfreda Gillis Smith (Pumpkin) of Charlotte, NC, Vernell Gillis-Goings (Man) of Fayetteville, NC and Billie Gillis (Sue) of Fayetteville, NC; his children-in-law, Cliffton Smith and Donna Goings; his grandchildren, Jasmine Gillis of Charlotte, NC, Taisha Ray of Charlotte, NC, Rachell Murphy of Fayetteville, NC, Alvin Moore Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Dashawn Holmes of Charlotte, NC, Donshea Holmes of Connecticut, Kelvin Green of Fayetteville, NC, Jerrell Goings of Raleigh, NC, Suzanne Gilmore of Fayetteville, NC, LaKeesha Gilmore of Charlotte, NC, James Joyner of Fayetteville, NC, Jalyn Gillis, Destiny Gillis, Makayla Frazier, Semaj Joyner, Samiya Joyner, Sayvion Joyner and Makiya Green; and his siblings, Verlon Gillis, Vernon Gillis, Alton Gillis of Swainsboro, GA, Bobby Ray Gillis of California and Karen Gillis-Young of Swainsboro, GA.
