She is survived by: her husband Thomas Christensen; her children, Suzanne, Nancy and Tom Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Wendi. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and a grandson-in-law.
In early 2016, Joyce's Alzheimer's prompted a need for her to be placed in an assisted living residence and her family chose a residence in the Atlanta, GA area where their two daughters live.
