He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Whitinger and Nina Whitinger; and his brother Norman. He is survived by: his former wife Margaret Eubank; his children, Robb, Ryan and Amber; his wife Cheryl; his stepsons, David and Jeremy Grossman; his stepgrandchildren, Robb Whitinger, Ryan Whitinger (Melissa) and Amber Whitinger Nash; and his grandchildren, Aaron Whitinger (Hannah), Avery Whitinger (Emily), Dylan, Kylee Whitinger, Dax Daugherty and Kalya Grossman. He is also survived by many friends and family.
He ended up retiring a couple of times and briefly worked part time at Ace Hardware until Covid hit.
