He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Grizzle and Ruby Grizzle; and his siblings, Helen Grizzle Waldron, Herman Grizzle, Frank Grizzle, Jr. and Louie.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Curles Grizzle; his son Charles Louie Grizzle, Jr. (Martha); his grandchildren, Charles Louie Grizzle III (Sarah), John Lanier Grizzle (Mary Pat Grizzle) and Mary Martha Grizzle; and his great grandchild Patricia Miller Grizzle. He is also survived by his father and brothers and then continued with his son and grandchildren and many friends.
