He is survived by: his uncle Mack; his daughter Diane Mahaffey; his son-in-law Carl Mahaffey; his grandchildren, Nickie Smith, Susie Smith, Margie Ervin, Jamey Ervin, Christina Burroughs and Mike Burroughs; his great grandchildren, Alex Clowdus, Terry Clowdus, Hunter Allen, Emerson Ervin, Anderson Teague, Ashlyn Ervin and Cory Ervin; his siblings-in-law, Mary Katy Powell and Gary Powell; his caregiver Carol Powell; his son Derrek Smith; his grandson Dustin Jackson; and his siblings, Junior Smith, Geneva Brown, Ruth Butler and Jean Taylor.
