Ricky Keith Adams Obituary
Ricky Keith Adams Sr., age 67, of Stockbridge, GA was peacefully guided home and healed on July 9, 2022 following a courageous and steadfast 8-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family in his final hours. Ricky Adams was born 10/11/1954 to the late Carlton and Hazel Adams of Stockbridge, GA.
After high school, Ricky raced dirt series cars (#25) at many local speedways. He served a long 31-year career with North Brothers Co., alongside the love of his life, Cathy Cox Adams, as well as his father for many of those years. In later years, he worked with the Tawfik family in grading and development. Ricky enjoyed spending time with his family and friends camping, boating, and fishing at North Shore Resort at Lake Oconee, eating oysters, and working on his family property.
Ricky was a rock to those who knew him and was passionate about his family. He endured many trials during his battle; he amazed and encouraged us all with his determination and continuous drive.
Ricky is preceded by parents Carlton and Hazel Adams; his sister and brother-in-law, Vicky and Kenny Terry; his father and mother-in-law, Dewey and Catheryn Cox; his brother-in-law, Ronnie Tyner; and his sister-in-law, Cheryl West. He leaves behind to carry his legacy, his wife of 48 years, Cathy Cox Adams; his sister, Angie Tyner; daughters, Jessica (Bryan) McGouirk, Becky (Eric) Carson, and Katy (Matthew) Widener; his son, Ricky Keith Adams Jr.; his grandchildren, Adam and Ethan McGouirk, Jacey and Quincy Carson, MaKenna and Jason Downs, and Gracie Widener; brother-in-law, Ben Cox; sister-in-law, Cindy Cox Phillips; a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who continue to love him dearly.
