She was predeceased by: her husband Ranny Thompson; and her parents, Walter Latimer and Evelyn Latimer. She is survived by: her children, Mary, Betsy Sierra (Dan) and Chris Thompson (Donna); her grandchildren, Matthew Thompson (Kat), Elizabeth Fuqua (Joe), Andrew Thompson (Jazmyne Crowder), Susanna Sierra and Micah Thompson (Taylor); and her great grandchildren, Suri, Mila Thompson, Allison, Lily Fuqua, Judah and Auden Thompson.
