She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Nessmith and Bernice Smith Nessmith; and her husband James Franklin Akins. She is survived by: her children, James "Tracy" Akins (Kathy) of Register, Christopher "Chris" Franklin Akins (Andrea) of Register and Linda Suzanne Rushing (Robin) of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Zachary Akins (Debra), Samantha Kate Akins Gilbreth (Cy), Shelby Lane Akins and Kelli Mincey (Ricky); and her great grandchildren, Miles Mincey and Ella Mincey.
