He was predeceased by: his children, David and Laurie. He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his daughters, Rebecca Davis and Bonnie Spiers (Richard) of Statesboro; his grandson Matthew Spiers of Brunswick; his stepchildren, Jeffrey Young (Katarina) of Slovenia and Deborah Young (Sean Werley) of Chapel Hill, NC.; and his stepgrandchildren, Austin and Eliot Werley of Chapel Hill, NC..
