He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilma Akins Ellis and Ben Ellis; and his siblings, Frances Donaldson Wilson, Edwin "Skeeter" Donaldson, Robert J. Donaldson and Mary Agnes Donaldson McBride.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Ellis; his children, Teresa (Ashley Brown), Ronnie (Stephanie Ellis), Franklin (Stephanie Ogburn) and Angela (Erick Ogburn-Landers); his grandchildren, Amber Brown Anderson, Kyle Brown, Dallas Beasley, Callie Beasley, Charlie E. Ellis, Jackson Ellis, Brandon Eskew, Christopher Eskew, McKenzie Ogburn, Madison Ogburn, Taylor Ogburn and Stephen Ogburn; and his great grandchildren, Noah Anderson and Nora Grace Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
