He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Fellman Smith and Josephine Camille Dadin Smith; his sons, Walter Herman "Bubba" Smith and Johnny Ray Smith; and his siblings, Jean, Doris, Olga, Richard and Teddy.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Aeger Smith; his children, Selena Yocco, Joseph Kimball Smith, Zachary Justin Smith and Erin Michelle Smith; and his sisters, Glenda Livingston, Brenda Lynch and Theresa Owen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
