He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurel McEwen and Myrtle McEwen; and his siblings, LJ McEwen and Shirley Fountain. He is survived by: his wife Mary McEwen; his children, Matthew McEwen (Melinda) of Guyton, Leigh Ann Duke (Grady) of Savannah, Lorraine Knight (William) of Perry, GA and Lisa McFarlane of Springfield; his grandchildren, Heather, Brian, Tiffany, Daniel, Chelsea, Christina M., Christina S. and Michael; his great grandchildren, Gabby, Caleb, Addyson, Miyah, Chloe, Alyssa, Leila, Cadence and Buddy; his niece Sheree Rogers (Deedee) of Port Wentworth; and his pet Chipper.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to the Senior Citizens Center, 601 N Laurel Street Springfield, GA 31329.
