He was predeceased by: his father Bob Milam (Linda Sue); his grandfathers, Walter Milam (Martha) and Robert Fields (Sue Sims); and his brother-in-law William "Bubba" Garrard (Betty). He is survived by: his wife Paula Garrard Milam; his children, Sims Garrard Milam and Elizabeth Suzanne Milam of Lady Lake, FL; his siblings, Woodie Milam (Shea) of Austell, GA and Susan Milam of Powder Springs, GA; and his siblings-in-law, Marlene Garrard Veal of Tennille, GA and Biff Garrard (Theresa) of Evans, GA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
