He is survived by: his sons, John Newton Mathis, Gerald Lamar Mathis and Larry Jason Wade Mathis; his stepdaughter Cristal Everett (Chris); his mother Virginia Walden; his siblings, David Mathis, Danny Mathis, Rusty Mullis, Scott Mullis (Serena), Angela Blue (William), Tosha Burkett (Tony) and Samantha Mathis Taylor; and the mothers of children, Tara Avant and Wanda Todd.
