He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Roger Smith; his wife Janice Smith; his mother Annie Maud Smith; his daughter Shakeia Butts; his siblings, Angeline Davis (Henry), Tammy Elder Lowe, Lucretia Williams (Brodie), Rodney Smith, Reuben Swift, Trellis Elder (Chuck) and Bobby Cox, Jr.; his grandchildren, Deyoundray, Quatarius, Jacoby, Leiland, Kensley and Karson; his aunts, Dorothy Alexander, Gloria Moon (Harold), Alpha Hardy, Patricia Muhammad (Gerald), Mary Elder, Lela Mae Elder and Johnnie Mae Elder; his uncle Carl Ward; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn, Valerie, Laytonya, Sabrina, Melinda, Sylvia (Blake) and Edward Woodard. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
