He was predeceased by: his wife Mitra Zahra Faghihi. He is survived by: his children, Soheil and Sahar; and his siblings, Ali, Shahlah and Shahriar.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the same organization that financially supported Shahin during his cancer journey.
