It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Donald Dawkins of Rossville, Georgia, born in Rising Fawn, Georgia, who passed away on May 23, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father James Gordon; his siblings, Evelyn Nofsinger and Lloyd Dawkins; and his sons-in-law, Danny Keith and Gary Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Joyce Griffith Dawkins of Rossville, GA; his daughters, Donna Cloud (Mike) of Rossville, GA and Debbie Hathaway (Greg) of Ringgold, GA; and his grandchildren, Justin Keith (Kate), Mara Seals (Stephen), Philip Smith, Tracy Johnson (Mike), Stacy Sisk (Brian), Jeremy Smith (Amber), Chelsey Ramos (Nico), Corey Hathaway, Jessica Comer (Josh) and Kevin Smith (Jodi). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
