He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory "Dean" Dodson and Lucy McNeill Dodson. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Dodson; his son Jeff Dodson (Cindy); his grandchildren, Georgiana and Gray Dodson; and his sister Carolyn Bosecker (Sonny). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; several sister in laws and brother in laws.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hearth Hospice.
