We are sad to announce that on December 13, 2022, at the age of 87, James A. Slaughter of Resaca, Georgia, born in Gordon, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Berry Slaughter and Emma Josephine Jones Slaughter; his wife Gertrude "Trudy" May Slaughter; his son James Dean Slaughter; his granddaughter Marissa Ann Slaughter; and his brothers, Ollie Slaughter and Jason Newberry.
He is survived by: his sons, Monty Eugene Slaughter (Diana) of Sugar Valley, GA, Michael Anthony Slaughter of Resaca, GA and Mitchell Miles Slaughter of Resaca, GA; his grandchildren, Amanda Jones (Tyler), Amelia Harrell (Michael), Justin Slaughter (Bree) and Torey Cooper (Zane); and his great grandchildren, Jason Jones, Jasper Slaughter and Avaleigh Slaughter.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of James may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to The American Cancer Society.
