He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tommy Underwood and Stella Mae Culpepper Underwood; and his siblings, Blanche Kinney, Joan Underwood Cody, Johnny, Jimmy and Carey Underwood.

He is survived by: his wife Sheila Williamson Underwood of Pendergrass; his daughters, Judy Underwood Pearson (Steve) of Pendergrass and Jennifer Underwood (Kerry Jamison) of Lawrenceville; his grandchildren, Chad Pearson (Angie Patrick), Casey Reed (Sandy Duncan), Jaylin Reed (Genna Langford) and London Jamison; his great grandchildren, Patrick, Chase Pearson and Camryn Reed; his siblings, Thomas Underwood (Linda) of Pendergrass, Charles Underwood (Jan) of Pendergrass and Shirley Underwood Channell of Jefferson; and his brothers-in-law, Clelle Kinney (Shirley) of Pendergrass and John Cody of Jefferson. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, and loving in laws.
