He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cannon and Bernice Cannon; and his daughter Judy Cannon. He is survived by: his wife Florence Wages Cannon of Oxford; his son Michael Lee Cannon; his siblings, Richard Howard Cannon, Sr., Gloria Dean Surratt of Douglasville and Mary Elizabeth Shaheen of Flowery Branch; and his stepchildren, Jovana Kiser, Norma Wages, Nathan Wages, Sharon Baches and Carolyn Powell. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great grandchild.
