He was predeceased by: his parents, Shafter Lamar Johnson, Sr. and Lucile Hurst Johnson; his wife Eleanor Marguritte Heaton; his brothers, Charlie Jessie Johnson and Shafter Lamar Johnson, Jr.; and his friend Estelle Carlson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ann Johnson Williamson (Marcus) of Trenton, GA and Dona Johnson Evans (William) of Ochlocknee, GA; his grandchildren, David Williamson (Brittney), John L. Williamson (Anna), Tony Voyles (Bonny) and Tanya Roberson (Brandon); his sisters, Esper Yauck of Thomasville and Rebecca Carlton of Soddy Daisey, TN; and his close friend Alma Hart of Climax, GA.. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
