She was predeceased by: her parents, James Byrl Herring and Willie Mae Martin Herring; her husband Rev. David A. Stokes; and her brother James Martin Herring. She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda S. VanLandingham (Timothy) of Cairo and Karen E. Stokes of Moultrie; her grandchildren, David B. VanLandingham of Macon, Hannah G. VanLandingham of Cairo and Rebekah V. Mann (Laurence, III) of Louisiana; and her niece Wanda Herring Barfield.
