Vernon Guthrie Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 3, 2023, at the age of 102, Vernon Guthrie of Nashville, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lester Guthrie and Pherbia Ford Guthrie; his wife Lucille Richardson Guthrie; and his siblings, Betty Ruth Bennett, Valarie Kent, Bremon Guthrie, Levi Guthrie, Ottis Guthrie, Warner Guthrie and Eugene Sirmans.
He is survived by: his son Ronnie Carl Guthrie (Brenda); his grandson Ronnie Carl Guthrie Jr. (Sharla); his siblings, Natalie Bargus and Hugh Guthrie (Jewel); and his great grandchildren, Forrest Guthrie, Blake Guthrie, Joey Whittington, Meghan Guthrie Raffield (Brandon), Aly Gipson (Jarret) and Cassie Purvis (Jamey). He is also survived by 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
