He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lawton Rowan, Sr. and Grace Pearl Whitley Rowan; his wife Thelma Corene Purvis Rowan; his son Larry Alvin Rowan; his grandson Joseph Duane Rowan; his foster son Michael H. Woodward; and his siblings, Thomas L. Rowan, Jr., Richard Rowan, Vernon Rowan, Rudy Rowan, Wayne Rowan, Myrtle R. Parker, Evelyn R. Eason, Odessa Rowan, Linda R. Phillips and Patsy R. Purvis.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Rowan Woodrum (John) of Black Creek, Garry Lawton Rowan (Peggy) of Nashville, Bobby Don Rowan (Dede) of Newnan and Belinda Rowan of Tifton; his grandchildren, Derek Lawton Rowan (Sherry), Christopher Robert Player (Rebecca), Elisa Rowan Strickland (Taylor), Tonia Morrow and Joseph Heys Rowan (Bennett William Rowan); his grandchildren-in-law, Tyler Collins (Jennifer), Mason Sikes, Lexi Knight, Greysen Strickland, Annalee Strickland, Paisley Rowan, Elizabeth "Betsy" Player, Maddison Morrow, Jones Lane and Reid Lane; his great great grandchildren, Elena Collins and Grant Collins; and his siblings, Nathan Rowan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marie R. Hagadorn of Albany and Ovaline R. Williams of Newnan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends.
